The Kent-based specialist storage and distribution experts required an IT services partner who could support their long-term IT strategy and growth plans.
Like any business, Fresh Service Ltd appreciates the need for a robust IT technology strategy and recognised that this can be the difference between success or failure. Their technology was not keeping up with the demands of business growth and recurrent outages were resulting in major disruption including having no access to ERP systems which are required to run the business. Internal IT resources and systems were stretched and struggled to keep up with demand. Customer service is at the heart of the business, so agility and the ability to respond to their clients is vital. They knew that change was needed and sought a provider who could not only work to resolve their immediate challenges but also provide a continued strategic partnership for the future.
“We were concerned about moving IT provider and the potential disruption to the business it might cause. The Select Technology team spent a lot of time upfront developing a deep understanding of our business needs and worked closely with us and our partners throughout to ensure that the switch and implementation went smoothly.”
David Robinson, Managing Director
Our team spent time with Fresh Service to fully understand their challenges and put together a strategic plan of how technology could be improved to support their business. Select Technology provided a smooth transition to our 24/7 fully managed IT Support service, as well as a complete IT infrastructure rationalisation and refresh. Using a mix of Microsoft and Veeam solutions, Fresh Service Ltd now enjoys a scalable and solid platform to support the business now and focus on strategic plans and future growth.

About the client
Fresh Service is an independent, family-owned company of approximately 130 dedicated employees at two distribution centres in Kent. Their Head Office on the outskirts of Dartford in Kent is strategically positioned at the junction of the M25 London orbital motorway and the A2 – the main thoroughfare from the Kent ports and Europe. A further depot is in the heart of Kent at Paddock Wood – the hub of UK growers’ and multiple suppliers’ own facilities. Across the two depots their experienced and proactive Board of Directors, management team and staff operate temperature-controlled warehousing for approx. 4,000 pallets and a fleet of temperature controlled vehicles, for the benefit of customers across the fresh produce sector. In 2012 they handled over 214,000 pallets of fresh produce on behalf of their customers and pride themselves on the care we take of both the produce itself and their customers.
