We are super busy at the moment, taking on lots of new customers and growing the business even more over the next few years. That means we’re looking for some more superstars to come and work on our Service Desk and support our lovely customers.

What you’ll be doing
- Deliver expert 2nd Line support to our valued clients, consistently upholding our reputation for technical excellence and customer care.
- Work towards, and help drive, both your own and the team’s objectives and KPI targets, contributing to our shared success.
- Provide robust technical support at the network level, covering WAN/LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, switches, and overall security, ensuring our customers’ systems remain secure and resilient.
- Offer knowledgeable assistance with backup technologies, particularly Veeam and Datto, to safeguard client data and business continuity.
- Guide, support, and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-focused environment within our close-knit team.
- Effectively manage and resolve technical escalations, ensuring swift, high-quality outcomes for our clients in line with our service standards.
- Maintain accurate and thorough system and client documentation, helping us deliver consistently high standards of service and compliance.
- Demonstrate excellent teamwork and clear, proactive communication – both internally and with our clients – to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Apply your business acumen to understand our customers’ unique needs and how our IT solutions support their wider business objectives and strategies.
- Participate fully in the Out of Hours rota, guaranteeing our clients receive round-the-clock protection and peace of mind from Select Technology.
What will you bring to the table?
- Proven experience at 2nd Line level, with a strong understanding of desktop, networking, and infrastructure support in dynamic business environments.
- A collaborative approach, always willing to support colleagues and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
- Relevant training and certifications in Microsoft 365, Networking, WatchGuard, and Veeam are beneficial but not essential – what matters is your drive to learn and grow.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including clear communication over the phone, active listening, and a genuine commitment to outstanding customer care.
- A demonstrable knack for technical troubleshooting, able to resolve issues efficiently for clients and colleagues alike.
- Self-starter attitude, thriving in a fast-paced setting and eager to take initiative in everyday challenges.
- Enthusiastic about technology and passionate about delivering service excellence, keeping our customers’ needs at the forefront of everything you do.
Technical toolkit
- Support, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft technologies (Windows OS, Office 365, Active Directory, VMware/Hyper-V).
- Manage networking and security (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routers, switches, firewalls including WatchGuard).
- Provide support for hardware, end-user devices, and peripherals.

The nitty gritty details
- The salary range for our 2nd line Support Engineers is £30 – £35k depending on your experience and qualifications.
- Office based, 26 days holiday, strong culture of growth & innovation.
- Our working hours are 8:30 – 5:30 Monday to Friday, but sometimes we might ask you to be a bit flexible on this for certain projects (don’t worry – we pay overtime!)
