Bird College required a new Managed Service partner for their IT support needs in order to reduce costs whilst increasing productivity and efficiency.

The Problem

Bird College were dissatisfied with their IT Services provider and went out to tender in 2017. The college had a traditional approach to their IT support with access to a remote help desk combined with an onsite IT Technician who responded to reactive support issues. They believed that a ‘like for like’ service would be their best option and this formed the basis of their tender document.

The solution

After careful consideration, Select Technology suggested that there was a better way to approach their Managed Services. Based on the size of the IT estate and with our proactive Prestige service offering, we suggested that a full-time onsite technician was no longer necessary.

The proposal was designed around our unique approach to Managed Services which offers an insights team and regular alignment visits as an extension of the Service Desk in order to minimise risk, reduce reactive incidents, improve efficiency and manage IT strategy. Not only did this enhance the previous service quality, but without the dedicated onsite technician, it also offered a more cost-effective service. Since the beginning of 2018, we have been delivering on our commitment by providing a World Class IT service for the college.
